Key Responsibilities- Data Integrity
- Utilize ICD-10-CM coding system to ensure accurate data entry.
- Independently research and solve complex coding problems.
- Serve as an expert resource for staff regarding abstracting, coding, and Trauma Registry Software updates.
- Administrative
- Ensure accuracy of auditing, medical coding, and trauma registry data.
- Collect and submit trauma registry data for trauma patients.
- Perform office tasks associated with day-to-day operations of Trauma Services.
- Compliance/Safety
- Report any safety-related incidents in a timely fashion.
- Attend all safety-related training programs.
- Perform work in a safe manner and monitor the work environment for possible safety issues.
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED - Required
- Associate's Degree - Preferred
- Certification & Licensures
- Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) - Required
- Certified Trauma Registrar (CSTR) by the American Trauma Society - Required
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years healthcare experience - Preferred
