Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a critical role within Ferry Machine Corporation, responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our CNC machine precision parts manufacturing processes. This position requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with experience in managing teams and implementing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Improvement: Lead the Engineering team in the development, review, and improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Operational Oversight: Evaluate and identify potential failures related to operational processes, efficiency, and quality loss, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Design and Communication: Define and communicate design intent and engineering tolerances to ensure optimal control of manufacturing processes.
  • Team Management: Directly supervise 7-10 team members within the Engineering department, including interviewing, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Cost Reduction: Propose and implement cost reduction programs to improve operational efficiency.
  • Production Floor Layout: Establish and maintain production floor layout to improve efficiency of operations.
  • Work Instructions: Author Work Instructions pertaining to production processes.
  • Customer and Supplier Relations: Fulfill customer engineering or suppliers engineering requests as needed.
  • Quality System Requirements: Complete quality system requirements as they pertain to specific job functions.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years management experience in contract manufacturing.
  • Education: Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent, or a minimum of five years of related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ISO9001 / ISO13485 QMS, and FDA requirements.
  • Skills: Experience with precision, low to mid volume machining and assembly equipment, tooling, fixturing, and gauging.
  • Software: Working knowledge in the use of Mastercam or equivalent software to program CNC equipment and model creation.
  • Computer Skills: E2 MRP Systems; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software.
