ROLE OVERVIEW
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is essential in refining our production processes, ensuring high product quality while enhancing efficiency and minimizing waste.
This role demands a robust background in manufacturing, particularly in applying Lean Manufacturing principles, along with the leadership capabilities to guide a team of process engineers toward achieving our operational improvement objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Enhancement:
Identify and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity to meet production goals. Utilize Lean Manufacturing methodologies such as value stream mapping and 5S to facilitate improvements. - Team Development:
Lead and mentor a team of process engineers, providing direction and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement. - Quality Management:
Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to establish and maintain quality control protocols, ensuring all products meet or exceed quality benchmarks. - Cost Efficiency:
Evaluate production expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety. Assess labor trends and propose strategies to enhance labor efficiency. - Risk Management:
Conduct PFMEAs to identify potential risks and initiate corrective actions as necessary. - Technology Adoption:
Research and integrate new manufacturing technologies and tools to boost productivity and product quality. - Supplier Engagement:
Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely procurement of materials while upholding cost-effectiveness and quality standards. - Safety and Compliance:
Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and compliance standards in all manufacturing processes. - Data Monitoring:
Employ data analysis techniques to track and evaluate key performance indicators, identifying areas for enhancement. - Continuous Improvement:
Encourage a culture of innovation, motivating team members to propose and implement creative solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of ten years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a manufacturing context.
At least two years of experience in a managerial role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools is advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
