We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of San Angelo Texas. As a key member of our parks and facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our city's parks, streets, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general labor and maintenance work for City parks, streets, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain various equipment such as rotary and/or reel mowers, tractors, skid steers, weed-eaters, trimmers, chain and pole saws, shovels, hoes, rakes, pruning shears, truck, trailer, blower, and other equipment involved in the maintenance of assigned areas.
- Assist in the installation of sprinkler systems and perform irrigation repairs.
- Perform maintenance and repairs within scope of authority, and in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and specialized equipment.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of parks and roadways; maintains landscaping and grounds; clears trash, brush, weeds, and debris from roadways, structures, grounds, and facilities.
- Clean and maintain City facilities; makes minor facility repairs; assists with the construction of new facilities and installation of equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent; and prefer one year of general work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver license with a good driving record.
- Ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time; work in extreme weather conditions.
- Requires constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and carry up to 117 pounds.
Work is performed outdoors. Regular and timely attendance is required.
