Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our Power Generation project in Columbus, Ohio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating support to our manufacture and ensuring the successful execution of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for the customer's project at the project site.
- Attend offsite meetings or conference calls with customer's project staff.
- Oversee project execution at the project site as directed by the MTU project staff.
- Coordinate transport, delivery, and turnover of MTU supplied hardware with factory, vendors, and customer as directed by the MTU project coordinator.
- Handle any issues with installation, delivery, or after the product has been delivered.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of MTU supplied hardware at the site as directed by the MTU project team.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts at the site within customers project team, work towards identifying potential crises, and advise contingency plans.
- Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Enforce MTU safety and ethics regulations at the project sites.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years' experience in a progressively responsible project manager role or similar role in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them.
- The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of diesel/natural gas generators and related equipment.
- Ability to read building plans and electrical drawings.
- Use computers for web-based training and work order system.
- Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.
- Travel required.
- Computer skills are mandatory – Microsoft Works.
- A self-starter who can Manage interdepartmental activities throughout the sales process.
- Ability to take direction, ask appropriate questions, and possess a strong sense of urgency.
- Good professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
