NUS Monitor Technician

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented NUS Monitor Technician to join our team at Bayshore Medical Center. As a key member of our Central Monitoring Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care services.
Responsibilities- Perform clerical duties related to admission, discharge, and documentation of patient information while prioritizing and organizing work assignments based on changing needs and situations in the department.
- Greet patients and families, assist them in filling out necessary forms and paperwork, and complete admission and discharge paperwork and file processing.
- Develop a rapport and cooperative relationship with nursing and clinical staff, responding to questions/requests from healthcare providers, and organizing and filing medical information appropriately.
- Answer phones and call bells, communicate clearly when receiving information from other units, physicians, and/or guests, and safeguard sensitive medical information while practicing strict confidentiality procedures.
- Measure and interpret patient heart rhythms, document on patient records per departmental standards, and use clear and complete communication with unit personnel when delivering information about changes in patient rhythm.
- Adhere to confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, clinicians, employees, and visitors, and complete other/varied tasks as necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma required.
- Successful completion of the Hackensack Meridian Health Monitor Tech Exam is required.
- Nursing Unit Secretary work experience in a hospital setting is strongly desired.
- Current and active NUS Monitor Tech work experience is strongly desired.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the heart is strongly preferred.
- Computer, order entry, basic Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills are required.
