Job Summary

As an EKG Tech I at St. Luke's Health-Memorial, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care by assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating heart and blood vessel ailments. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Perform routine EKGs and rhythm strips, responding to Stat EKGs and attending CODE BLUE situations as needed.
2. Observe and report potentially lethal arrhythmias to the nurse or physician, ensuring timely intervention.
3. Complete preparation of 12-lead EKG tracings for processing and physician interpretation, accurately charging for tests completed.
4. Edit EKGs interpreted by the cardiologist, preparing them for distribution to the patient's medical record.
5. Prepare, connect, and disconnect holter equipment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
6. Investigate minor equipment malfunctions, implementing corrective action and reporting major malfunctions to Biomedical Engineering.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma/GED
* Successfully completed a basic EKG course and passed the required examination
* CPR certified
* Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)

Pay Range

$18.48/hour
