NURSES Etc STAFFING is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities- Pulmonary Function Testing: Perform pulmonary function tests, including spirometry, flow volume loops, and lung volumes, to assess respiratory function and diagnose respiratory disorders.
- Respiratory Care: Administer oxygen and aerosol therapy, manage mechanical ventilators, and prepare and administer respiratory medications as ordered by physicians.
- Critical Care: Assist physicians with transesophageal and stress echocardiography, and radionuclide and thallium studies, and perform bronchoprovocation and exercise testing.
- Patient Assessment: Assess and document patient status, including vital signs, respiratory function, and other relevant data.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and aerosol generators.
- Quality Control: Maintain quality control of arterial blood gas machines and CO oximeters, including proficiency testing.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Certification: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and Basic Life Support certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 24-36 months of experience providing respiratory therapy in a hospital or healthcare setting.
