Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary focus on the operations and maintenance of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems.
  • Adhere to the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule, conduct routine inspections of all equipment, perform daily site assessments, and complete PM/Job Orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Identify and procure necessary spare parts and consumables, preparing requisitions for approval.
  • Conduct basic electrical repairs and troubleshoot sensors as needed.
  • Assist in organizing spare parts, tools, and consumables, ensuring timely availability and maintaining accurate records.
  • Dismantle equipment such as blowers and pumps for maintenance purposes.
  • Develop skills in operating forklifts, hoists, cranes, and using hand and power tools, while examining the condition of parts.
  • Inspect and gather information on parts, pipes, and other equipment using measuring instruments.
  • Comply with all safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in on-site fabrication tasks including welding, grinding, and cutting.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure a safe working environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure all calibration records for lifting devices are current and properly documented.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on life safety systems, including eye washes.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a backup operator when required.
  • Exhibit flexibility in working extended hours, including overtime and weekends.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of training towards a licensed trade is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to obtain mobile crane, personnel lift, and forklift certifications.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in reading blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to identify necessary tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
  • Capable of performing basic diagnostic tests on large industrial machinery such as pumps, compressors, and conveyors.
  • Experience in dismantling machines and removing parts for repair using various tools and equipment.
  • Skilled in cleaning and lubricating machinery, including oil changes as required.
  • Basic pipefitting skills are advantageous.
  • Experience in maintaining records of repair and maintenance activities using a CMMS.
  • Availability for weekend and on-call duties may be necessary.
  • Ability to lead contract mechanical work activities as needed.
  • Welding skills are considered an asset.
