The primary responsibility of the Personal Lines Insurance Executive is to oversee significant accounts, collaborate with producers as necessary, and act as a vital resource within the account management team.

This role involves managing a sophisticated portfolio of business (typically generating $200,000-$300,000 in revenue) and requires extensive expertise. The Executive may concentrate on a select number of major accounts.

The Personal Lines Insurance Executive will respond to formal carrier initiatives and independently cultivate new and existing client relationships with minimal oversight or producer involvement.


Responsibilities:

Team Functions:


Each team will operate cohesively, with the leading member, whether a Client Executive, Senior Account Executive, Account Executive, or Senior Account Manager, coordinating the following tasks.

Responsibilities may be distributed among team members to leverage each other's strengths, enhancing overall effectiveness.

Promotes leadership and mentorship among team members.


Guides staff in maintaining client relationships, motivating performance to ensure that client deliverables align with service standards and established procedures.

Encourages a collaborative team atmosphere.

Participates in staff recruitment and separation decisions and advances the training of new team members.

Approves time-off requests and timesheets for staff, as applicable.

Reviews expense reports within the designated authority level.

Job Functions:
Regularly meet with clients and serve as the primary contact for coverage consultations and service inquiries.


Manage the renewal process, including organizing internal and external pre-renewal strategy meetings, making coverage decisions with clients, directing the marketing process, and overseeing the renewal proposal.

Engage with carrier underwriters to negotiate renewals, new business, and remarketing quotes.


Establish, implement, and manage documented service timelines and calendars, ensuring adherence to commitments that align with client expectations.

Participate in client meetings to support retention and sales efforts as requested by producers. Facilitate client meetings, including preparing agendas, materials, coordinating presenters, and drafting and distributing meeting notes.

Review weekly business reports.

Advise clients on coverage and risk exposures, reviewing contracts and policies, and negotiating with carriers to minimize gaps and omissions.


Audit the portfolios of sales executives, identifying potential coverage gaps or additional coverages to offer, ensuring these gaps are addressed.

Research coverage issues, including negotiating with carriers to meet client needs and expectations.

Promptly address and resolve customer inquiries and issues.


Prepare renewal business opportunities for marketing, submit clients to selected markets, analyze proposals and quotes, and negotiate final coverage terms and pricing.

Participate in client meetings to support retention and sales efforts as requested by producers.

Prepare spreadsheets and other complex charts as needed or requested.


Monitor expiration lists and receivables, ensuring financials are within established goals and timelines, facilitating the collection of outstanding receivables if necessary.

Perform other responsibilities and duties as required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to work with High Net Worth clients and understand their unique insurance exposures.

This includes recognizing when a client's insurance portfolio has outgrown the coverage offerings under a Middle Market/Service Center carrier.

Ability to work independently while maintaining open communication within the team. Considered a subject matter expert in one or more areas (e.g., High Net Worth, Service Center, etc.).

Ability to manage complex risk management accounts and non-standard insurance techniques.

Extensive knowledge of carriers and industry-standard coverage forms.

Contributes feedback to company projects within subject matter expertise.

Skilled in time management, project management, and delegation.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.

Full proficiency in MS Office:
Word, Excel, Outlook.

Expertise in agency management systems (AMS Sagitta and ImageRight preferred)

Strong work ethic, collaborative spirit, and mentorship capabilities.

Motivated and able to work independently while maintaining frequent communication with the team.

Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.

A strong advocate for changes that enhance workflows and the Personal Lines organization.

Experience and Education:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior personal lines account management role (typically 10+ years of total insurance experience)

Applicable state P&C Agents License.

Industry-related certifications expected.

College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
