Endoscopy Technician

The Endoscopy Technician provides critical support to physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Key responsibilities include preparing rooms, maintaining equipment, and assisting with patient care.
Responsibilities:- Assists physicians with endoscopic procedures, adhering to universal precautions and hospital policies.
- Verifies patient information, prepares rooms, and ensures necessary supplies are available.
- Maintains equipment in excellent condition, reporting malfunctions to the nurse in charge.
- Cleans procedure rooms, including endoscopes and accessories, following hospital guidelines.
- Enters patient data into the Image Manager Computer System, as trained by the manufacturer.
- Collects and labels specimens obtained during procedures, adhering to hospital and Endoscopy guidelines.
- Assures patient comfort, directed by the nurse, considering the patient's age and needs.
- Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment in procedure rooms on a daily basis.
- Participates in staff meetings, attends in-services, and updates knowledge and skills in the Endoscopy field.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalency, required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in healthcare, required. Nursing attendant experience preferred.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, and Olympus Image Manager, required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, self-starter, team player, works well under pressure, required.
- Bilingual preferred.
