About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Middlesex Sheriff's Office in Massachusetts. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a correctional setting, providing high-quality care to inmates and detainees.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing medical care and support to clients undergoing Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with clinical duties and perform emergency services as necessary.
  • Dispense medication as directed and account for medication, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and oversee program-specific treatment plans for each client.
  • Closely coordinate with local pharmacies around MAT client medications.
  • Provide individual and group health counseling to clients and families as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current LPN license issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of LPN experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a correctional or similar setting also preferred.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work varied shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, and subject to being forced to work over 8 hours depending on operational needs within the MSO HSU.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is between $68,745.67 and $70,825.67 per year, plus additional benefits included per the collective bargaining agreement.
