Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide mechanical assistance to enhance plant performance and maintain the functionality of the equipment used in our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various mobile machinery, including forklifts, manual shift trucks, JLG man-lifts, and crane trucks.
  • Work effectively in confined spaces and under challenging weather conditions.
  • Adhere to the Safe Work Instruction Program to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Interpret technical documents such as prints, schematics, manuals, and drawings for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Utilize oxygen/acetylene torches and perform welding tasks at different angles and steel thicknesses.
  • Show willingness to cross-train in operational roles such as loaders, dozers, locomotives, and cranes.
  • Layout and fabricate minor repairs or equipment as needed.
  • Possess millwright experience related to bearing replacements and motor alignments.
  • Familiarity with various hand tools is essential.
  • Experience in rigging and working in proximity to cranes and hoists.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Certified welder with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical abilities.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods while using tools.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends.
  • Availability for overtime work.
