Job Overview

Maya Angelou Schools and See Forever Foundation are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our scholars, who are incarcerated adults and opportunity youth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to scholars in the classroom, study hall, and one-on-one tutoring sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with the instructional team to develop and implement effective lesson plans and instructional strategies.
  • Model and promote a positive school culture that emphasizes hope, high expectations, and achievement.
  • Participate in school-wide activities, including off-site retreats and celebrations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with incarcerated or opportunity youth is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
