Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis, design, programming, and implementation of intricate application tasks and projects. Develop logical procedures to address business challenges using computer resources. Establish project scope and objectives through research to create or modify complex systems. Review detailed specifications and suggest enhancements. Design, code, test, and debug advanced application programs.
  • Deliver project-related outputs effectively. Engage in the analysis, design, programming, and implementation of systems and procedures to tackle complex business or scientific issues. Assess interrelationships within programming areas to understand the impact of changes across related systems. Implement conversions and enhancements to business systems. May lead or provide expertise on designated projects.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, business analysts, and team members to grasp business requirements that inform the analysis and design of high-quality technical solutions. Ensure that solutions align with business and IT strategies and adhere to the organization’s architectural standards. Support post-implementation and system enhancement activities.
  • Test modified programs, create necessary test files and data, verify logic, debug, and produce relevant documentation.
  • Design and develop IT systems. Innovate new data sources and develop novel approaches and techniques. Participate in the full systems life cycle, responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex application software delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide mentorship to junior programmers and analysts. Act as an internal consultant by offering technical guidance on complex projects. Identify and resolve issues with other systems analysts, programmers, and system users.
  • Test designed programs, verify logic, perform necessary debugging, and document the process.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of application development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies in mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environments.
  • High level of technical proficiency in programming languages, platform capabilities, and systems analysis and program design methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think logically and abstractly while adhering to project goals and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-building capabilities.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.

Minimum Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


Experience:

A minimum of 6 years of experience in application development, systems testing, or related fields.


Compensation:

The expected pay range for this position is $40.00/hour - $58.00/hour.
