Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Digital Software Engineer to join our Fidelity Health Care Technology Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust and resilient web applications that meet the needs of our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in front and middle tier development, with a passion for using tools and frameworks to guide the development of stable and efficient applications. You will work closely with our architecture, security, and UXD teams to ensure that our applications are architecturally compliant and meet the highest standards of quality and security.

The Team:

Our team is responsible for building outstanding experiences for Fidelity Health Care customers. We focus on crafting rich and compelling experiences using the best application design guidelines and robust tooling to provide healthcare benefits and management.

We work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment and are committed to advancing a digital strategy that delights our customers.

The Expertise You Have:
  • 6+ years of experience in designing and implementing web applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • Proven experience with one or more popular JavaScript toolkits (e.g. Angular 10+)
  • Proven experience with building restful experience APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
  • Solid knowledge with Java and the Open-Source stack technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of secure coding standards and practices

  • Knowledge of the web application landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies used in crafting performant, resilient, and robust web apps
  • Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms to ensure alignment to software engineering methodologies
  • Excellent understanding of Test-Driven Development and Test Pyramid in support of highly resilient and stable apps with a high degree of code coverage
  • Strong understanding of modern development principles such as trunk-based development, feature toggles, and branch by abstraction to support performant and collaborative engineering teams
