Eaton's Electrical Engineering and Services division is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Expert to join their team in Albuquerque, NM. The company offers relocation assistance to support the transition.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65,250 - $95,700 a year. Please note that salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You'll Do:

Eaton has a large and experienced team of Power System Engineers (PSE) with industry-standard software and advanced modeling and analysis capabilities. The team brings extensive skills and experience to power system analysis and design.

Active participation in technical societies like IEEE and collaboration with various utilities and industries ensure that our engineers are knowledgeable about today's cutting-edge engineering techniques.

We assist customers at every stage of the power system, from substation and distribution system design to renewable energy and smart grid engineering, from safety and reliability-focused studies to power quality and grounding-related audits and analyses.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training.
  • Self-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
  • Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
  • Work with a team of sales engineers, project managers, and electrical contractors to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Perform Short-Circuit, LV Coordination, and Arc Flash studies.
  • Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency.
  • Perform Harmonic Analysis and design electrical distribution systems, including modeling and mathematical calculations for Load Flow, Voltage Drop, Power Factor Correction, Fault, and Grounding analyses.
  • Collect field data to gather information on customers' existing electrical distribution equipment to complete a variety of power system studies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with an anticipated graduation date no later than May 2025.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing short circuit or Arc-Flash studies.
  • Engineer-in-Training.
  • Bachelor Degree focused in power systems.
  • IEEE Membership.
  • Graduated Field Service Certification Level II.

Position Criteria:

  • Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
  • Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company's safety program.
  • Travel requirements for this role is 25%.
