Key Responsibilities
  • Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards and promote artistic growth in students.
  • Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and artistic development.
  • Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior, promoting a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards and artistic skills, ensuring they meet or exceed expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning community.
Requirements
  • NYS Teacher Certification in Art or reciprocity from another state in the equivalent area is required.
  • At least 2 years of Art Teacher experience at the elementary or middle school level, grades K-8 is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required, and a Master's Degree is preferred.
