Job Summary

Pitt Ohio Express is seeking a highly skilled Class B City Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a commercial vehicle to pick up and deliver general freight, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
  • Load and unload truck cargo, either individually or with the assistance of dockworkers, using mechanical freight handling equipment when necessary.
  • Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Secure cargo through strapping or other methods to prevent damage during transit.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with federal regulations and company policies.
  • Comply with all federal requirements regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver's logs and other regulatory documents.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial motor vehicle operation.
Requirements
  • A minimum age of 21 years.
  • At least one year of experience (approximately 50,000 miles) as a driver of a commercial/non-commercial motor vehicle similar to those used by Pitt Ohio Express.
  • Pass a Pitt Ohio Express driving test administered by an approved trainer or designee.
  • Hold a valid driver's license issued by the state in which you reside, with a hazardous materials and tank endorsement (obtained within 90 days of employment).
  • Have no record of a driving license suspension or revocation covering the last 36 months from any source.
  • Meet the qualifications outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
  • Consent to a pre-employment drug screen and provide a negative result prior to performing any safety-sensitive functions.
  • Have no past pattern or record of involvement in more than three motor vehicle violations, at-fault traffic accidents, or motor vehicle violations during the 36-month period from any source.
  • Demonstrate a stable work history, good work ethic, dependability, and a positive, supportive, and cooperative attitude.
