About the Role

Pitt Ohio Express is seeking a highly skilled Class B City Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation of Goods: Drive a commercial vehicle to pick up and deliver general freight, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Freight Handling: Load and unload truck either individually or with assistance of dockworkers, using mechanical freight handling equipment where available.
  • Physical Demands: Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight, as well as securing freight through strapping or other methods.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions, adhering to federal regulations and company policy.
  • Compliance: Comply with all federal requirements regarding the transportation of Hazardous Materials and drive straight truck in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver's logs and other records.
Requirements
  • Age and Experience: A minimum age of 21 years and a minimum of one year experience (approximate 50,000 miles) as a driver of a commercial/non-commercial motor vehicle similar to the type utilized by Pitt Ohio Express.
  • Qualifications: Must pass a Pitt Ohio Express driving test administered by an approved trainer or designee, possess a valid driver's license, and have no record of a driving license suspension or revocation covering the last 36-month period.
  • Background Check: Must consent to a ten-year check on work history and a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
  • Drug Screening: Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen and have no prior evidence of controlled substance use from any source in the past three years.
