Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Lake Health District. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and providing necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to AORN standards and hospital policies.
  • Participate in the Code Trauma Team and respond to emergencies, demonstrating sound judgment and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate with the Sterile Processing Department to maintain accurate inventory, perform quality control checks, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop and improve skills in assisting surgeons, organizing work, and using economy in time, motion, and materials.
Requirements
  • National Surgical Technologist certification required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Surgical Scrub experience required.
Working Conditions

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to walk and stand for extended periods, and the capacity to lift and move patients of all sizes and capabilities. The Surgical Technologist may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and/or biochemical hazards.
