As a vital member of the Seminole County team, the County Surveying Coordinator will engage in professional and technical responsibilities that involve overseeing the Survey Section's activities. This role includes reviewing right-of-way maps and survey field notes from external consultants throughout all phases of the surveying process. The Coordinator will support the County Surveyor in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise technical staff in the preparation of data for County projects, including maps, survey notes, and legal descriptions.
2. Evaluate consultants' sketches and boundary surveys for adherence to technical standards and relevant regulations.
3. Serve as the primary liaison between Seminole County and its survey consultants, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
4. Participate in the hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions of assigned staff.
5. Certify and sign legal survey plats, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
6. Review major roadway design projects and ensure compliance with acquisition requirements.
7. Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide technical support for survey operations.
8. Maintain a comprehensive database of survey-related documents as mandated by law.
9. Research and utilize local records and knowledge to assist field survey crews.
10. Prepare various survey documents using advanced drafting software.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree along with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid State of Florida Professional Land Surveying License is mandatory and must be maintained.

Additional Skills:

Candidates should demonstrate considerable knowledge of surveying principles and contract administration, as well as the ability to lead a team effectively. Proficiency in mathematics, particularly trigonometry, is essential, along with familiarity with GIS and CAD applications. A valid Florida Driver's License is required for this role.
