VitalCore Health Strategies LPN Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering quality care to patients at Volusia County Jail. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing nursing care within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver quality care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and reporting changes to medical staff.
  • Administer medications to offenders and provide wound care with appropriate cleaning and dressing/bandaging.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of teaching plans based on individual patient needs.
  • Provide care for multiple patients as directed by the Medical Director, DON, or Registered Nurse.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Possesses an active CPR certification.
  • Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
