Abacus is seeking a skilled Battery Energy Storage Field Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of battery energy storage systems (BESS) used in various applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and Engineer BESS Systems: Develop system-level schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for BESS installations.
- Conduct Technical Analyses: Conduct feasibility studies, technical analyses, and cost-benefit analyses to determine the optimal BESS system design and configuration.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with project managers, technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of BESS systems.
- Test and Commission BESS Systems: Conduct factory acceptance tests and on-site commissioning of BESS systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
- Develop System Monitoring and Control Strategies: Develop and implement system monitoring and control strategies to optimize BESS system performance and ensure reliable operation.
- Provide Technical Training: Conduct technical training for field technicians and end-users on BESS system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Investigate and Troubleshoot BESS System Issues: Investigate and troubleshoot BESS system issues and failures, and develop and implement solutions to address them.
- Develop Maintenance and Inspection Programs: Develop and implement maintenance and inspection programs to ensure the long-term performance and reliability of BESS systems.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, knowledge of battery technologies, and experience with the design and implementation of energy storage systems. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are also essential. A degree in electrical engineering or a related field is typically required, along with relevant certification and experience in the field.
