We are seeking a skilled Boiler Technician to join our team at the Providence Housing Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to heating, boiler, and HVAC maintenance and repair work.
Key Responsibilities- Perform skilled heating, boiler, and HVAC construction, maintenance, and repair work on our housing stock and properties.
- Provide journeyman-level skills in heating, boiler, and HVAC, including planning, laying out stock, materials, and equipment, and performing the work to completion.
- Exercise competent and responsible independent judgment in resolving work issues and following agency policies and procedures.
- A high school diploma or equivalent educational experience is required.
- 5 years of successful experience in heating, boiler, and HVAC maintenance and repair work with residential/industrial boilers to 600 horsepower/BTU's high/low gas is required.
- A City of Providence, State of Rhode Island Stationary Engineer License is required.
The successful candidate will be able to work in a shop environment, as well as in public housing environments in all weather conditions. They will also be able to work heights on ladders, staging, and scaffolding.
Physical DemandsThe position requires the ability to lift up to 100 lbs., or in excess of, with appropriate assistance from other maintenance staff and/or through the use of appropriate equipment. The successful candidate will also be able to work in confined and elevated areas.
