Position Description:

Commercial Carpenter

Summary:

The Carpenter will deliver professional services while constructing, repairing building frameworks and structures, and interior finishing with a focus on precision and quality.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Installs doors, frames, and hardware
  • Forms and pours concrete
  • Lays out and frames walls using wood or metal studs
  • Hangs and finishes drywall
  • Installs wall protection including FRP board, crash rails, corner guards, etc.
  • Installs acoustic ceilings
  • Installs cabinets, trim, and other finish carpentry
  • Lays out and installs in-wall blocking
  • Installs roof blocking
  • Hangs toilet partitions and installs restroom accessories
  • Adheres to the company's safety policies to ensure a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Commercial Carpenter

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Relevant education or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and characteristics to perform carpenter duties
  • 10 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment
  • Ability to read building blueprints
  • Ability to utilize relevant math skills
  • Good knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment along with safe use of the same
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home
  • Ability to work at heights without fear including work on scaffolding and ladders
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Must have a strong work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform regularly in outdoor weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid, and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
