Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced examinations, diagnoses, and treatments of patients in the Rheumatology Service.
  • Collaborate with specialists in other areas on cases involving interrelated problems.
  • Attend key medical meetings and conferences, serving as an authority on rheumatology.
  • Maintain accurate health and clinical records in accordance with current regulations and standards.
  • Administer and teach all aspects of rheumatology care to residents, interns, and other medical personnel.
  • Recommend improvements to work methods, organizational features, and position restructuring to support rheumatology services and quality patient care.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from a school in the United States or Canada, accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or an equivalent accrediting body.
  • Be licensed to practice medicine in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Have completed a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or institution accredited for such training.
  • Have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in rheumatology and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.
