Sheetmetal Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Sheetmetal Technician Senior to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely laying out, fabricating, and installing parts, equipment, and fabricated items on aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Use complex schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings to perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation tasks, ensuring compliance with internal and FAA quality specifications.
- Mentor and train junior sheetmetal technicians, reviewing their work to ensure adherence to quality control standards.
- Oversee projects and assess requirements to procure necessary materials and documentation.
- Utilize tools and equipment to shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications.
- Safely operate shop equipment, including brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools, while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct monthly 5S audits and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes, including forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Valid driver's license to operate towing and other Gulfstream transportation equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently.
- Ability to adapt to sudden schedule changes and work any shift, including weekends.
- Good working knowledge of computers and experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
