Senior Risk Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts risk assessments, collects and analyzes documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends.
  • Establishes policies and procedures to identify and address risks in the organization's services and departments.
  • Reviews and assesses risk management policies and protocols, makes recommendations, and implements modifications and improvements.
  • Recommends and implements risk management solutions, such as security policies, Business Continuity Plans, or recovery measures.
  • Drafts and presents Risk Reports and proposals to executive program leadership and senior program staff to include management of the Risk Management Board.
  • Supervises and mentors subordinate project staff.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five or more (5+) years of position-relevant work experience.
  • Experience with project management, specifically managing schedules and risk.
  • Experience supporting Federal acquisition programs.
  • Experience with implementing risk management processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of risk management coordination across stakeholders to draft risk statements, validate impacts of risks, and present in PowerPoint and dashboard.
  • Ability to identify, track, and monitor risk, and develop Risk Mitigation Plans in accordance with risk management principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and relevant industry standard certifications such as Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification.
Clearance Requirements:

This position requires an active Top Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
