Position Overview

Tact Staff is currently seeking a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) for an exciting travel nursing opportunity.

Job Details & Requirements
  • Specialty: SICU - Surgical Intensive Care

  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Employment Type: Travel

This role requires experience with a vascular surgery population, including procedures such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and fem-pop bypass. Candidates should also have thrombectomy experience with carotids, pneumonectomy, and post-thoracic surgery experience. The nurse-to-patient ratios will vary, with a maximum of 1:4-5 for step-down acuity and 1:2-3 for unit patients.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years as an RN
  • At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • First-time travelers are not accepted

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Additional Information:

  • Floating within scope may be required
  • Block scheduling is open for discussion
  • Local candidates within a 65-mile radius are accepted
  • Pending licenses are not accepted

Special Requirements: Surgical and cardiac experience is essential. This is a mixed acuity unit with the possibility of floating to step-down units.
