Job Overview

Objective: To execute all necessary tasks to ensure the timely and complete shipment and invoicing of finished products to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and schedule shipments after all items have been prepared for delivery.
  • Identify and implement strategies to consolidate shipments, thereby minimizing transportation expenses.
  • Ensure the selection of the most economical LTL carrier for all shipments, unless a specific carrier is requested by the customer.
  • Negotiate freight rates with brokers to secure optimal pricing while maintaining high service standards.
  • Coordinate the swift swapping of LTL trailers to facilitate continuous loading operations.
  • Plan live loading schedules in advance, based on anticipated completion times provided by management.
  • Maintain open communication with management throughout the day to address any scheduling or trailer swap challenges.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, including load documents, packing lists, and shipping labels for loaders as required.
  • Generate Bills of Lading (BOL) for all shipments and ensure proper filing of our copies post-pickup.
  • Confirm that shipments are invoiced once fully loaded and verified.
  • Monitor daily shipment targets and report performance metrics at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Conduct dock inspections at the start of each shift and periodically throughout the day to track LTL trailer status and capacity.
  • Engage in consistent communication with leads, supervisors, and the distribution center manager to ensure alignment in achieving shipping objectives.
  • Perform additional general warehouse tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Able to collaborate effectively within a team and work closely with both office and warehouse personnel.
  • Capable of remaining seated for extended periods while also assisting on the dock when necessary.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and safety-oriented.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
