Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

The following are essential duties for this position. Associates are responsible for completing all tasks assigned to ensure the successful operation of our business. All associates must perform their duties in a manner that upholds the integrity and honesty of our company.

  • Arriving for scheduled shifts punctually and consistently, demonstrating clear communication and the physical ability to safely perform assigned tasks while providing excellent service.
  • Enhancing sales by offering guests high-quality products that are consistent and made according to company standards. Ensuring appropriate stock levels based on time of day, season, and promotions.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service by utilizing skills from the 'Make our Guest Crazy About Us' training.
  • Understanding and performing tasks such as finishing par-baked products, labeling, rotating, and fulfilling special orders.
  • Maintaining proficiency in producing various bakery items in accordance with company standards while ensuring a sanitary work environment.
  • Safely operating bakery equipment including ovens, fryers, and other machinery.
  • Ensuring the quality and presentation of baked goods meet company standards.
  • Receiving and inspecting deliveries to confirm ingredient quality and quantity.
  • Mentoring new associates and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and workplace safety.
  • Actively participating in safety initiatives within the Bakery Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities; however, every associate has the opportunity to demonstrate leadership in their role.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with guests and team members.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

  • Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Food Handlers Permit; Valid Driver's License or State I.D. Card.

Physical Demands & Safety Expectations:

This position requires physical effort, including standing for long periods, lifting, and moving items of varying weights. Associates must adhere to safety standards and report any accidents promptly.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, associates may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and varying temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
