CBWS Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

St. Olaf College is seeking a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor to teach swim skills curriculum at various levels for local youth and provide lifeguard services during swim lessons and/or birthday parties.

• Teach swim skills curriculum at various levels (beginner through advanced) for local youth.
• Provide lifeguard services during swim lessons and/or birthday parties.
• Oversee child behavior and implement disciplinary action plan as needed.
• Be prepared to execute the EMS plan and respond to emergency situations.
• Communicate concerns to the recreation coordinator.
• Keep track of time worked and record on timesheet.
• Openly communicate with the recreation coordinator regarding vacation requests, program issues, etc.

• Must provide proof of current Lifeguard Certification (required if performing lifeguard duties; preferred but not required if teaching swim lessons).
• Experience having taught swim lessons and/or working with youth.
