Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

At Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from strokes, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech and language disorders, including those with cognitive-communication impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patients' communication skills and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients' families and caregivers to promote effective communication and care.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Current Washington State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Master's degree from an accredited speech-language pathology program.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in speech-language pathology, preferably with a clinical fellowship.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.
