KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

VAE is in search of a Network Operations Center (NOC) Administrator to oversee monitoring tools and ensure the availability of the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) NOC.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring network systems to guarantee availability for all users and performing necessary maintenance to uphold network functionality.
  • Identifying potential risks within the network proactively and formulating strategies to mitigate them.
  • Executing data backup and disaster recovery operations.
  • Administering and maintaining computer networks and associated computing environments, including hardware, systems software, applications software, and configurations.
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing network security protocols to safeguard data, software, and hardware.
  • Conducting routine network startup and shutdown procedures while maintaining control records.
  • Evaluating user requests for network upgrades or additions to assess their impact on performance and providing guidance on the most effective technical solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT with 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • IAT Level II Baseline Certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
  • Active DOD TS/SCI level security clearance, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a CI Poly.
  • Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, with available shifts including: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and isolating faults in IT business systems.
  • Proficiency in the following areas:
    • Configuration of Cisco switches and routers.
    • Dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
    • Spanning tree.
    • 802.1x.
    • Troubleshooting S2S/IPSEC tunnel connections.
    • VLAN configurations.
    • Network troubleshooting.
    • Basic firewall troubleshooting and configuration.
    • Basic ISE/TACACS troubleshooting and configuration.
    • AWS Cloud services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience with DISA and its support to mission partners.
  • TS/SCI with CI Poly preferred.
