Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Chiller Mechanic to join our team at Johnson Controls. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial, industrial, and institutional markets, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in chiller maintenance, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers of all brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, and service requests to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Recommend necessary upgrades or repairs to prolong the equipment life cycle of our customers' equipment.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective communication skills.
  • Provide quote estimates for labor and material repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Work as part of a team dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service to all customers, which may require flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires.
Requirements
  • Requires Mechanical Journeyman status.
  • Valid Red Seal Refrigeration and A/C certification.
  • Valid ODS certification.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphones, iPads).
  • Adherence to company safety program.
  • Valid driver's license, appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants, boiler, and steam operational and service knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to be on call nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
Preferred Qualifications

More than 5 years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives.

This is a Bargaining Unit Position.
