We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in Surgical Prep and Recovery at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. This is a full-time day shift position with no weekends or holidays.

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide high-quality patient care and support clinical staff at the unit level. Responsibilities include performing clerical, receptionist, and patient service coordination, as well as performing various nursing care services and related non-professional services under the direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist, and patient service coordination.
  • Perform various nursing care services and related non-professional services under the direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.
  • Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients.
  • Provide direct high-quality service to Licensed Independent Practitioner to assist in patient care activities.
  • Facilitate high-quality customer service, communicating clearly with patients and families.
  • Remove non-controlled medications from deliver points and hand directly to RN or place in secure location.
  • Act as a Unit Clerk on occasion, preparing, compiling, and maintaining patient medical records, transcribing physicians' orders, processing tests and procedures, and notifying physicians of admissions or consultations.
  • Act as a Patient Visual Monitor on occasion, maintaining visual observation, verbally redirecting patients, and documenting observations.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho or maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network.
  • Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting preferred.
