Key Responsibilities:
The Seafood Department Leader will take on a pivotal role, embodying the essence of leadership by inspiring the team. Responsibilities include:
- Training and supervising staff, managing inventory, processing orders, and presenting seafood products attractively.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards under the Store Manager's guidance.
- Cultivating a passion for food and a positive shopping atmosphere for customers.
- Demonstrating a proactive approach with a focus on teamwork and motivation.
- Upholding essential qualities such as patience, humility, humor, and strong listening skills to foster a supportive environment.
Essential Duties:
- Assist the Store Manager with all aspects of the Seafood Department.
- Oversee customer service, management, ordering, receiving, scheduling, and documentation.
- Conduct in-service training for seafood department employees.
- Help maintain profit margins in line with the approved budget, including managing sales goals and waste.
- Control costs by minimizing shrinkage and theft.
- Ensure high-quality product availability through proper ordering and receiving.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the seafood area.
- Engage and coach employees in effective selling techniques.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
- Support safety training and compliance with health regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Adaptability to various store environments during training.
- Demonstrated small team management skills, overseeing 0-10 employees.
- High School diploma or GED; seafood-related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting English documents; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations and financial management.
- Strong reasoning abilities to analyze situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Awareness of safety protocols while working in a dynamic environment.
