About the Position

The Long Beach City College is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach in the Family and Consumer Studies department. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success. The position will involve teaching a variety of courses in fashion and textiles, including history of fashion, textiles, retail buying, sewing, flat pattern drafting, digital fashion illustration, and digital patternmaking using Gerber Technology.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses in fashion and textiles
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in department and college committees
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental goals
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the discipline
  • Associate degree and six years of experience in the discipline
  • Valid credential to teach in the discipline
  • Meet equivalent qualifications established by the district
Desirable Qualifications
  • Recent community college or lower division teaching experience
  • Expertise in field of course(s) to be taught
