Job Title: Power Engineer - Electrical Engineer

Large Metal Manufacturer is seeking a Power Engineer - Electrical Engineer to join its team at its Pittsburgh, PA location.

Job Summary:

The Power Engineer - Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. This includes leading process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team, supporting manufacturing and maintenance through MDI process and continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshooting technical problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends, and apply engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Develop and implement new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair, and devise PM strategies and spare parts lists.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment, and develop and implement new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.
  • Find new technologies and processes that can improve equipment performance and reliability, and collaborate with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
  • Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead, utilizing fundamentals of project management, and effectively communicate project expectations to team members.
  • Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time, and improve equipment reliability and operation through analysis of data and experimental evaluation.
  • Implement appropriate plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency, and manage the coordination, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing process improvement and tooling.
  • Perform work measurement studies, including time studies, process capability studies, and uptime studies to meet pre-determined goals, and be directly involved with continuous improvement teams.
  • Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department, and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated with the manufacturing environment.
  • Research, justify, design, and implement new processes, tooling, and equipment, and procure activities including obtaining bids, evaluating bids, and making purchase recommendations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and power systems, with experience in maintenance and reliability engineering, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills, are required.

The Power Engineer - Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment, and will work closely with the operations team to lead process and product improvement efforts.
