Job Title: Power Engineer - Electrical Engineer

Large Metal Manufacturer is seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer - Electrical Engineer to join its team in Pittsburgh, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment, leading process and product improvement efforts, and supporting manufacturing and maintenance through MDI process and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends, and develop countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Develop and implement new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair, and devise PM strategies and spare parts lists.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment, and develop and implement new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization, and manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members, and delegate as needed.
  • Implement appropriate plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency, and manage the coordination, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing process improvement and tooling.
  • Perform work measurement studies, including time studies, process capability studies, and uptime studies to meet pre-determined goals.
  • Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, and incorporate safety into all aspects of the department.
  • Research, justify, design, and implement new processes, tooling, and equipment, and procure activities including obtaining bids, evaluating bids, and making purchase recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, including scope, specification, design review, budget, and WBS/Schedule.
  • Knowledge of FEL process a plus.
