Staff Nurse FT Evenings UCHC ADTC

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Full-Time Staff Nurse for the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center, located in Avenel, NJ. As a member of our team, you will utilize the nursing process to meet a variety of health care needs with ambulatory care as a primary focus.
Key Responsibilities:- Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial, and emotional needs of the inmate-patient.
- Utilizes effective communication skills to demonstrate respect, concern, and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
- Uses current knowledge to promote a safe environment for providing health care to inmate-patients.
- Maintains current professional skills and continues professional growth to enhance the practice of correctional nursing and the image of the organization.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
- CPR Certification required.
- Valid Driver's License is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or its equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a correctional setting preferred.
