Key Responsibilities

The Vertical Markets Manager (VMM) will oversee the Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV) sector on a global scale, with a particular emphasis on the U.S. market. The VMM will collaborate with two marketing teams:

  • The global Market Strategy & Innovation team, consisting of members from various regions.
  • The local U.S. marketing team.

In partnership with ez-Wheel, a subsidiary of IDEC, the VMM will deliver AGV solutions that stand out in the marketplace. The role encompasses three primary responsibilities:

  • Oversee the AGV Vertical Market globally (approximately 30% of time).
  • Facilitate the introduction of ezW products in the U.S. (local priority).
  • Expand business in the U.S. focused markets, specifically AGV and Greentech.
Essential Duties

1. Global AGV Market Management

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the AGV market, including current trends and future projections. This involves conducting market analyses, engaging with customers, and establishing trust with AGV manufacturers, system integrators, and end users.
  • Based on insights gathered, propose strategies for growth in the AGV market across various regions (Japan, China, APAC, USA, Europe), including:
    • Identifying market opportunities.
    • Creating regional sales action plans with support from other VMMs.
    • Recommending new products and solutions to the IDEC Product Marketing team, focusing on unmet customer needs.

2. Product Launch Support

  • In the initial months, prioritize the preparation and support for the U.S. launch of ezW products in collaboration with the ezW team and U.S. sales and marketing departments.

3. Business Development

  • Collaborate with the Industry Sales team to develop and implement IDEC USA's market strategy for AGV and Greentech sectors.

4. Strategic Market Execution

  • Work with the Market Strategy & Innovation team and U.S. sales and marketing to define and execute IDEC USA's vertical market strategy for global focus markets.
  • Identify business opportunities in collaboration with VMMs from other regions and U.S. sales management, and coordinate sales action plans.
  • Support IDEC's Global Strategic Accounts initiative through participation in global meetings aimed at accelerating growth.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly sales reports with market insights to guide tactical actions for revenue enhancement.
  • Assist in global vertical initiatives in the U.S., including SEMI, Robotics, and Automotive.
  • Adapt or develop new channels to penetrate targeted markets as necessary.

This role is highly visible within the organization and requires cross-functional collaboration with various departments, including ezW, sales, product marketing, and R&D. Regular meetings with key customers are essential, and frequent national travel is expected.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • An advanced technical degree (preferably in Engineering) and 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the AGV sector, either at an OEM, system integrator, or end user.

Language Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and effectively presenting information to diverse audiences.

Intercultural Skills: Experience working with international teams is highly valued.

Marketing Skills: A strong marketing mindset with the ability to identify customer challenges and propose innovative solutions.

Technical Skills: A foundational understanding of robotics is necessary to engage with technical experts.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and develop actionable insights.
