Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Pharmacist to join our team at ATC White Plains. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide indirect patient care and work collaboratively with nurses, peers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver pharmaceutical services to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient medication orders against their medication profile, adhering to hospital and pharmacy policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Utilize all aspects of the pharmacy process to meet the age-specific needs of patients in medication education, safety, and patient rights.
  • Participate in infection control, risk management, and quality improvement programs, demonstrating competency by completing established standards.
  • Apply decision-making skills, including recognition, data collection, priority setting, resource utilization, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Ensure productivity through punctuality, effective time management, and consistent performance, minimizing social and personal activities that may interfere with work.
  • Participate in in-services, projects, and professional development activities to maintain current licensure requirements and enhance skills.
  • Assume accountability for completing competency standards, accepting constructive criticism, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, respond to change, and provide effective communication among the healthcare team.
  • Be flexible in staffing and adjust to assignments as needed.
  • Practice cost containment measures and adhere to all policies, procedures, dress code, code of conduct, customer service, and mandatory in-services.
  • Supervise Pharmacy Assistants and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy with a minimum of a BS in Pharmacy.
  • Current New York registration.
  • Successful completion of Hospital and Departmental Orientation Program, according to hospital and pharmacy policy and procedure.
Core Competencies
  • Demonstrate effective two-way communication by clearly defining expectations, communicating using various methods, actively listening to ideas and concerns, and responding appropriately.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Maintain department competencies and required continuing education credits for licensure.
  • Demonstrate the ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a role model.
Work Environment

The Registered Pharmacist may be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. The hospital's Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database is accessible through the hospital's Intranet site or at the hospital switchboard.

This position requires the ability to ambulate, sit/stand for extended periods, perform difficult manipulative arm-hand steadiness, and hand-eye coordination skills. The individual must be physically able to meet all regulatory requirements and concentrate on fine detail with minimal interruption.
