Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Water Treatment Specialist to oversee the operation of treatment plant machinery and equipment, ensuring the purification and clarification of water for both human consumption and industrial applications.

This role involves managing and regulating electric motors, pumps, and valves to control the flow of raw water into the treatment facility. The specialist will also be responsible for the precise addition of chemicals such as chlorine, ammonia, and lime to the water, either manually or through automated systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating and controlling machinery to maintain optimal water treatment processes
  • Adjusting devices to ensure accurate chemical dosing
  • Initiating mixing processes and regulating water flow through filtration systems
  • Pumping treated water into distribution systems while monitoring and adjusting flow rates
  • Performing routine cleaning and maintenance of tanks and filtration systems
  • Conducting tests on water samples to assess quality parameters
  • Documenting chemical usage and water quality metrics

Essential Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Water Treatment Operator or in a similar role
  • Wastewater Certification III
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • U.S. citizenship for access to military installations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • OSHA 30 certification

Physical Requirements

This position requires moderate physical effort, including:

  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds
