Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing shipping orders through our enterprise resource planning (ERP) and logistics software systems. This position involves providing essential administrative and clerical support to the shipping operations within our distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and verify outbound shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy in product counts, weights, and measures against relevant records.
  • Accurately complete mailing labels with all necessary information.
  • Affix shipping labels to packaged items.
  • Consolidate shipping orders as required.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to arrange the pick-up of goods.
  • Ensure that drivers leave with all required documentation.
  • Perform warehouse closing tasks, including checking in drivers and securing dock doors.
  • Audit shipments against corresponding documents to ensure order processing accuracy.
  • Handle incoming calls professionally, taking messages and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain shipping stations in optimal condition, stocked with necessary materials.
  • Monitor inventory of packaging supplies and request additional materials as needed.
  • Prepare summary reports for management review as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in warehousing processes, including order fulfillment and shipping preparations.
  • Proficient in data entry and computer skills; familiarity with Excel is advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical abilities and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with vendors and delivery personnel.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and follow established procedures.
  • Previous experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Demands:

This role requires regular communication, frequent sitting, standing, and walking, as well as the use of hands for handling materials. The employee must be able to lift and move items of varying weights and work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
