Position Overview:

The Fabrication Technician will be tasked with mastering all functions related to the production floor, encompassing skills in Cutting, Grooving, Hole Cutting, and Assembly, along with comprehensive knowledge of cataloging and shop floor platforms (Mendix) as instructed by a certified trainer.

This role will involve close collaboration with the team lead to uphold all operational policies and procedures. Responsibilities may fluctuate based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Daily

  • Ensure a safe working environment and report any incidents, near misses, and safety-related issues to the lead or management.
  • Maintain punctuality and attendance.
  • Execute daily operations on the production floor.
  • Uphold quality standards as per Victaulic's specifications.
  • Follow the current project timeline and manage materials effectively.
  • Perform all tasks associated with the fabrication cell with proficiency.
  • Complete all daily checklists and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks.
  • Achieve certification on all relevant equipment.
  • Ensure completion of all 5S responsibilities.
  • Comply with all established policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the lead or management.
  • Monitor personal performance metrics.
  • Oversee all TPM and checklist responsibilities.
  • Address any project-related issues promptly.
  • Strive to meet all performance goals.
Monthly

  • Ensure completion of all TPM tasks.
  • Collaborate with the fabrication lead on FEM initiatives.
  • Attain certification in at least one 5S FEM discipline.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Forklift certification for all specified equipment (to be obtained post-employment).
  • Familiarity with forklift-mounted computers and barcode scanners (training available on the job).
