This Clinical Research Coordinator role is integral to the operations at Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center. The primary focus will be on coordinating clinical research initiatives, ensuring compliance with research protocols, and managing participant interactions.


Role Summary:
Oversees the execution of clinical research projects, engaging in various tasks related to study management. Responsibilities include participant recruitment, screening, and enrollment, while ensuring adherence to established research guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizes logistical aspects, establishes workflows, and allocates resources for designated clinical research trials.
  • Engages in the recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants, collecting relevant data and addressing inquiries under the guidance of licensed medical professionals.

Responsibilities Associated with This Role:

  • May conduct basic medical evaluations following necessary training/certification, such as taking vital signs and performing phlebotomy.
  • Manages components of research workflows, gathers, prepares, processes, and submits participant data and samples, ensuring compliance with research protocols.
  • Identifies resource requirements for the work unit and oversees inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
  • Acts as the primary contact for clinical research participants and staff, providing information about research procedures and addressing informational inquiries.
Ensures that participants adhere to research protocols and promptly informs the Principal Investigator of any issues.

Additional Duties:
Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.

  • Demonstrates sound clinical judgment, decision-making capabilities, and cultural sensitivity in consultative tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in clinical settings with patients and families is preferred.

  • Familiarity with biological or medical concepts acquired through education or prior experience is preferred.
