Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Powell Houston-Canton. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our electrical products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Electrical Equipment: Conduct thorough inspections and tests on electrical equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
  • Monitor Manufacturing Processes: Monitor and evaluate manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to prevent defects.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production teams, engineering, and quality control to ensure that quality standards are met and that products are delivered on time.
  • Develop and Implement Quality Control Processes: Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure that products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain Quality Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including test records, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve quality and efficiency.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma or equivalent required; journeyman electrician trade ticket an asset.
  • Minimum 0-3 Years' Experience: Minimum 0-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in electrical inspection or quality control.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including electrical theory and relevant mechanical experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires working in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs. They must also be able to bend the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extend arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.
