About the Role:
Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling and organizing instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs and pass instruments and retract tissue during procedures.
- Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure.
- Dispose of sharps and trash, and prepare instruments for cleaning after each case.
- Assist with OR turnover between cases, including stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning operating rooms.
- Participate in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.
- May provide business support to the department, including administrative tasks.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
- Certified as a surgical technologist or two to three years of experience in a surgical technologist role.
- Registration with State Regulatory Agency, where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
